Greetings, in today’s episode we examine a surgery gone wrong and the surgeon’s lackluster defense that “you only need one kidney.” This is our second demo case, but is taken from a real life law suit. A patient goes in to have a benign cyst removed, but instead of removing only the cyst, the surgeon removes the entire kidney, which was otherwise healthy. As always, we examine the law, historical backgrounds, literary references, philosophical principles, religious perspectives, and social norms to arrive at our conclusion of who is the moral victor. Have a listen and come back to the site to vote on who you think should be the winner, doctor or patient. Like and follow us on The Facebook (yes, we prefer the original name) and Twitter (yes, we also prefer that original name as well, otherwise we feel like we’re referring you to some sleezy X-rated site), and listen to us on iTunes and Spotify. YouTube channel coming soon. Justice may be subjective, but the burn is absolute!

<itunes:subtitle>This demo case comes to us from fake listener Karen, complaining as usual, this time about her neighbor Chad's oak tree. Chad's mature oak tree is on the border of their property and has an ominous tree branch extending over Karen's driveway and hanging like the sword of Damocles. Karen is concerned about the branch falling on her driveway where she parks her BMW, and where her children play with their toys. Chad's tree is regularly shedding debris and acorns, and could pose a real danger if it falls at the wrong time. Karen, in pure self-righteous Karen-fashion, demands that Chad trim his tree; Chad scoffs and refuses, citing a healthy tree and property rights. Listen to the episode where we run through an analysis of the situation, looking to our six lenses (legal, historical, literary, philosophical, religious, social norms - and sometimes science as a seventh) for guidance. Come back and vote on who you think should be the Moral Victor.</itunes:subtitle>
